What to include in a material selection inquiry

Polymer, process and product requirements: initial information for a technical inquiry.

Start with the product: describe its purpose, shape and thickness. Specify the base PE or PP, known grade and current formulation. Name the processing method and problem you want to solve. This puts the material discussion in the context of your production.

For a color task, supply a sample or agreed color reference. For a functional task, describe a measurable result and constraints. Add planned volume and delivery location. Separate mandatory requirements from preferences and agree on trial criteria before receiving samples.
