TDS and SDS: which documents to request

A technical data sheet and safety data sheet serve different purposes.

A TDS contains information on a specific grade: properties, test methods and guidance where supplied by the manufacturer. It helps organize selection, but finished product properties also depend on your formulation and process.

An SDS is used to assess safe material handling, storage and necessary measures. Request current versions of both documents and check the grade name. Specify special application requirements separately when supporting evidence is needed. A catalog category does not confirm certification for every grade.
